The skilled nursing facility is envisioned as a care-giving center where residents receive personal care in a home-like setting with dignity and control of their own lives and environment. The facility provides a family-like setting with the “cottage” for groups of 14 residents. The cottage is a two-story home with seven private bedrooms per floor, an entrance foyer, a library overlooking a two-story living/dining room, a kitchen and bathing suite. Socializing can be done within the cottage home or at easily accessible neighboring cottages and common spaces. An “outdoor appearing” conditioned interior street links the five cottages (four for long term care and one for short term recuperative care) with an entry public bridge, cafe, a destination restaurant, a beauty salon, therapy and a mailbox alcove.
