Crossings
2016 - recycled wood, paint - 16"x24"x22.5"
Crossings refers to the mountainous barricades that the disadvantaged, the refugees, encounter in their struggle along their path of life. These may be barriers of racism, of sexism, of illiteracy, or of inequality. Through the barrier, a small opening offers hope to the disadvantaged, an opening that grows larger with each barrier that is overcome. Crossings speaks of our societal responsibility to make that opening ever larger.
